Find us on Facebook at
Columbia Canoe Club at Mansfield Hollow State Park
PLEASE TAKE NOTE:
VIP: Organizational meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 24th at 7:00 pm at the Buchanan Center of the Mansfield Library. This is a vital meeting in which I hope all current and prospective members will attend. We will be discussing the future of the club.
Updates: With all the rain this past summer, our roads have taken a beating. I have been assured by the Army Corp of Engineers that they will be regraded soon prior to the start of our season. .
We will not begin the season until that work is done. My hope is before our usual start date of May 1. I will keep you posted. Sue
VIP-
This year all HARD COPY (not electronic) forms will have to be resubmitted and will be good through the 2027 year. My apologies but we need to do this. All forms including renewal membership form, and waivers for each member will need to be submitted. We will be having a meeting at the Mansfield Library in April ( date to be announced), you can bring forms at that time. Any forms submitted after May 10th of renewing members are subject to a $10.00 late fee. Covid waiver forms are no longer needed but protocol is still in place.
We have a new handle with lock on our door. It is easy but will require a 4 number combination. Not difficult, just new. The key is still the same however and will still be needed. .

Columbia Canoe Club is a non-profit canoe and kayak club located at Mansfield Hollow State Park in Mansfield Center, CT. Mansfield Hollow is a state park devoted to fishing and boating. There is no swimming allowed and the park has a 5 mph speed limit.
The club was originally founded by Pat Murphy on Columbia Lake (thus the name) in 1961. The club was incorporated in 1966 and in 1967 were National Canoeing Champions.
However, our racing days have waned and we have become more recreational in nature. We were fortunate to make our home at Mansfield Hollow State Park in 1989 and built a new clubhouse in 1997. We have a variety of canoes and kayaks in the clubhouse as well as accessories. If you are interested in joining, usually new members are sponsored by a current member, you can learn more by contacting chairperson, Sue Audette, at 860-456-4906 or at [email protected]t Please mark your subject line with Columbia Canoe Club. Thank you.
Please make checks payable to CCC.
HOW IT WORKS... Most new members are sponsored, that is, brought in by a current member. By doing so, he or she can act as a mentor to the new member. However, on occasion, we do open membership so be sure to let us know if you are interested. A mentor will be assigned and will help you understand which boats are most appropriate for your use. In addition you will learn: how to care and store our equipment properly, how to properly wear a life-jacket (required at all times). And a variety of other things to make your paddling more pleasurable. In addition, we have a few teaching days in which you can improve your skills.
Members can come to the club when they choose while follow park rules. You may take a boat from the boat house, launch it in the area designated for the club and return it when you are done. All boats must be used at the Mansfield Hollow Lake ONLY. No boats are to go off site at any time.
